JOSHUA TREE + THE HIGH DESERT, CALIFORNIA

When you are in Palm Springs, stopping at the Ace is only a must. Actually, it's probably one of the main reasons I love Palm Springs!

We went to the desert right after we went to the Rose Bowl Flea Market which meant my backseat was filled with dresses for the shop. So naturally, a photo shoot happened! Thank goodness for iphones because I forgot to bring my SLR. This dress is a wonderful 1970s dress perfect for a bohemian bride.

Since we were so close to Salvation Mountain, and because I've always wanted to see it, we decided to drive the extra two hours. Highlights included finding some really peculiar shack towns along the Salton Sea, eating delicious burritos, getting long and almost driving to Mexico (ok, not quite, but almost), and going to an amazing cactus shop. The day we visited Salvation Mountain the creator, Leonard Knight, had just passed away. He was a truly wonderful folk artist and great human being who created a magical place.

Wearing a 1960s emerald cutout dress available in the shop.
