社会研究统计应用是公共管理学各专业的基础课程之一，本课程以应用统计学为基础，重点介绍如何运用定量分析方法解决公共管理中的社会经济问题。其主要内容有：SPSS基本统计分析、定类及定序数据关联分析、SPSS的参数分析、SPSS的方差分析和SPSS的线性回归分析。本课程从加强基础、培养学生动手能力、提高素质的教学目标出发，建立一个科学的、合理的社会统计应用（SPSS）课程体系。通过理论学习与上机操作，学生应当了解定量分析技术的基本原理，逐步领会统计分析方法的精髓，掌握SPSS软件的操作，正确解读软件输出结果，并能够利用SPSS解决实际的统计分析问题，从而对SPSS在公共管理中的应用有更为深入的了解。

Social Research statistics application is one of the Public Management professional courses, this course in applied statistics-based, focusing on the use of quantitative analysis method to solve the socio-economic problems in the public administration. Its main contents are: SPSS basic statistical analysis, Nominal and Ordinal data correlation analysis, SPSS parameter analysis, SPSS variance analysis, and linear regression analysis in SPSS.

This course is a very important part of our course system that strengthening basic, training students ability. By Theoretical learning and hands-on operation, the students should understand the basic principles of quantitative analysis techniques, the essence of statistical analysis, master SPSS software operation, correct understanding of the software output and be able to use SPSS to solve actual statistical analysis of the problem, to have a more in-depth understanding of SPSS in public administration.
